Mexico vs Trinidad & Tobago Highlights (concacaf)

Club America striker Raul Jimenez scored in the 83rd minute to give Mexico a hard-fought 1-0 win over Trinidad & Tobago, and a berth in the CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinals, Saturday night at the Georgia Dome.

Mexico will meet Panama in Wednesday night’s semifinal match at Cowboys Stadium for a chance to three-peat as tournament champions.

T&T netminder Jan Williams came up big in the first half, getting a hand on a 23rd minute shot by Carlos Pena to deflect it away from the goal and picking off Rafael Marquez Lugo’s goal-bound header in the 40th.

Mexico kept pressing after the intermission, with Jimenez cracking a shot off the post in the 54th minute and Miguel Layun forcing a save from Williams in the 61st. Another Layun shot set the stage for the game-winner, as Jimenez swept in to redirect his Aguilas teammate’s attempt past Williams and into the net.
