Homophobic language isn't always meant to be hurtful, but how often do we use it without thinking? Please share this video to help combat casual homophobia. This Public Service Announcement was developed to compliment the NoHomophobes.com website. (NoHomophobes)
The United States had the “That’s So Gay” campaign thanks to the Ad Council and GLSEN, but now Canada is taking that message one step further with a PSA for the No Homophobes Campaign where they fight the use of the word “faggot.”
The effective PSA where teens talk directly to the camera and casually drop the F bomb was created by the University of Alberta's Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services.
Don’t hear the word faggot every day?
Just to get a sense of how widespread the word is, the university found that the word has been used on Twitter 15 million times a year.
