To legislate indigenous language to preserve them (TYTcast)

Facing the risk of the extinction of indigenous languages in the world, the linguist Fidencio Briceño Chel considers it urgent, in Mexico, to make official and formal the use of Maya language to help its preservation.

Briceño Chel said that countries like Paraguay, Bolivia and Ecuador, have legislated the use of indigenous languages, which has allowed the preservation in addition to obtaining resources for their study.

With his research specialization on Yucatec Maya language and culture, Fidencio Briceño Chel has over fifteen years of experience teaching Yucatec Maya.
