Announcing the new route from Mexico City to London were AeroMéxico’s Chairman, José Luis Barraza; Gloria Guevara, Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism; Dionisio Pérez-Jácome, Secretary of Communications and Transport; and Andrés Conesa, AeroMéxico Group’s Director General.
AeroMexico inaugurated services on the 8,900-kilometre route from Mexico City (MEX) to London Heathrow (LHR) on 14 December.
Thrice-weekly flights are offered on the route and operated using a Boeing 767. British Airways provides competition on the route - also with thrice-weekly frequencies.
Andrés Conesa, AeroMexico Group’s Director General, said of the new launch: “It is a great achievement, but also great responsibility for us, given the new route’s importance to the Mexican economy.”
