Waiting media have captured a spectacular motorbike crash in Mexico involving the presidential cavalcade.

Everything was going smoothly for this Mexican motorcycle cop until he hit something on the road.

It's not supposed to happen like this.

This motorcycle policeman was cruising along at the head of a presidential motorcade in Mexico City when he misjudged a small barrier on the road.

What happened when he hit it came as a shock to him, and everyone watching.

As his bike flipped up and over the cop was thrown on to the road and tumbled along for about 50 metres.

He seems OK after all that.

Except for wounded pride, perhaps.
