The Mexican Foreign Ministry announced the departure from the port of Veracruz of a navy boat, which is expected to arrive in Cuba November 18 with a humanitarian cargo for the eastern provinces hard hit by hurricane Sandy.
A communiqué issued by the Mexican Foreign Ministry, cited by PL news agency, explains that the humanitarian aid is made up of 163 tons of fiber cement roofing sheets to restore some 750 partially destroyed Cuban homes.
The aid will benefit about 200 thousand families, whose homes were affected by the storm that hit eastern Cuba in late October.
The cargo will be downloaded at the Santiago de Cuba harbor in the presence of Mexican diplomats and local authorities, the communiqué explains.
