Woman puts her virginity up for auction as part of the news series by GeoBeats.
A Brazilian student has decided to auction off her virginity in order to build several houses for the poor, according to the New York Daily News. 20-year-old Catarina Migliorini has essentially placed her body on the auction block, and will award the prize to the highest bidder
The price of the college student’s virginity has reportedly risen to $160,000, money she will use to help construct homes for those in need. However, she’d really appreciate it if you didn’t call her a prostitute.
In order to properly document this so-called “virginity auction,” an Australian film crew will follow the physical education student as she embarks on her unusual mission to help the less fortunate. Catarina Migliorini, meanwhile, doesn’t seem too concerned about the controversy her decision has generated.
“I saw this as a business. I have the opportunity to travel, to be part of a movie and get a bonus with it. If you only do it once in your life then you are not a prostitute, just like if you take one amazing photograph it does not automatically make you a phototgrapher. The auction is just business, I’m a romantic girl at heart and believe in love. But this will make a big difference to my area,” the virgin explained in a recent interview.
According to the Daily Mail, the money that Migliorini receives from her virginity auction will be donated to a non-governmental organization devoted to building houses for the poor. For her troubles, the student will receive $20,000 as well as 90 percent of the final auction price.
In addition to chronicling Catarina’s first sexual experience, director Justin Sisely’s Virgins Wanted will follow a male virgin during his first encounter with a lady.
Do you think a virginity auction is okay if the person is donating the proceeds to charity?
