Expat Journal: Postcards from the Edge by Stephen F. Dennstedt Check it out on Amazon.com |
CIUDAD DE MERIDA, Yucatan, MX – American photographer and author, Stephen F. Dennstedt, has fled from the United States to Yucatan for a better life. “I am an economic, cultural and political refugee” Dennstedt announced. Disheartened with what is happening in the United States at the present time, Dennstedt plans to spend his retirement years traveling the world.
Dennstedt has just published a new book titled Expat Journal: Postcards from the Edge. In his book he chronicles his transition from commercial banker to expatriate, international photographer and reluctant author. “This book is based on my travel blog Expat Journal” says Dennstedt, “But photography is what I love.” Expat Journal recounts the events and frustrations that led up to his life-altering change.
Often witty and funny, it also touches on serious subjects like death, divorce, job loss, Vietnam, Cuban cigars, Scotch Whisky, beautiful women and a little gecko named Pedro Gonzalez. Dennstedt explains that “Millions of people are going through some of these very same experiences, and that just maybe this book will prove helpful.”
Expat Journal: Postcards from the edge, is part memoir, part travel-guide and part how-to book, with lots of photos of Yucatan. It is currently available through Amazon, Kindle Books, Barnes and Noble and most bookstores and libraries. Published by COLONIAL PRESS with CREATSPACE, an Amazon Company, it is hoped that this first effort will be part of an ongoing series.
