US Army Strikes on Mexican Cartels Is Worse Than You Think (Task & Purpose)

Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” and advocated for increased military intervention to disrupt cartel activity at the southern border.

Morgan told TND that he agrees with the senator’s position. Morgan said the traditional prosecutorial approach to combating drug cartels is not working.

“The only thing that’s happened is the cartels have expanded their power, control and influence globally,” Morgan said.

Whether or not we label cartels as terrorist organizations, Morgan said that’s how we should treat them. “We need to go after them with the same whole-of-government approach, same resources, and the same level of commitment that we do with terrorist organizations,” he said.

That doesn’t mean rolling tanks into the streets of Mexico, Morgan said. But we can use precision military strikes to defeat cartels, he said.
