Mexico's National Consumer Price Index rose 6.35% in September on a yearly comparison, remaining way above the 4% limit set by the country's central bank, but slowing down when compared to the 6.66% rate posted in August.
The annual inflation in September is a result of higher prices for goods, energy, and tariffs set by the government.
In the monthly comparison, Mexico's inflation decelerated to 0.31% in September, from 0.49% in August. The result was below the 0.45% increase expected by analysts.
The underlying index, which excludes food and energy prices, rose by 4.80% in September on a yearly basis - the lowest level since May - and increased by 0.28% on a monthly comparison.
