Updadte Group of GOP Senators Unveil Their Answer to Trump’s Border Wall (Washington Post)

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says it would waive some environmental, natural resource and land management laws to expedite construction of barriers and roads near the U.S.-Mexico border in San Diego.

According to a press release, the projects will be done in a 15-mile section of the United States Border Patrol’s San Diego Sector, which is an area of high illegal entry. Last year, Border Patrol arrested more than 31,000 illegal aliens and seized nearly 9,170 pounds of marijuana and 1,320 pounds of cocaine in the sector.

The DHS says it is working to implement President Trump’s plans for a U.S.-Mexico border wall.
