President Trump's strong stand against illegal immigration has become a top issue in the upcoming Mexican presidential election and the front runner has just released a new book blasting the president's "xenophobia."

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the president of the Morena party, this week released his 16th book, "Oye Trump," or "Hear Trump," that includes details of his anti-Trump tour through the United States in the spring.

In it, he lists proposals to protect and defend illegal immigrants from Mexico that are in the United States.

He also rips Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto for not standing up to Trump's call for a wall on the southern U.S. border and deportation of illegals, mostly Mexicans.

"EPN is silent before Trump, we decided to face xenophobia and defend the migrants," he said in a video announcing his book, soon to be released. "I recommend the book, [there] are proposals and actions in defense of migrants in the United States," he added in the video.

Lopez Obrador, a former mayor of Mexico City, is the leading candidate for president. The election takes place next year. He has run before, but Mexican pundits believe that the progressive populist will finally win next year, using his anti-Trump crusade to overrun opposition.
