Update: Tropical Storm Calvin Forms Off Mexico's Southern Pacific Coast, Heads for Land (Reuters)
Tropical Depression Three-E continues to move very slowly near the Pacific coast of Mexico where heavy rain could cause life-threatening flash floods and mudslides early this week.
The storm is expected to move slowly northwestward and move inland along the coast of southern Mexico by early Tuesday morning.

Some strengthening is possible and the depression could become Tropical Storm Calvin before it slides inland.
Tropical storm warnings have been posted over parts of the southeastern Mexican coast from Boca de Pijijiapan to Punta Maldonado. This means tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours.

Five to 10 inches of rainfall are forecast across southern Guatemala and the Mexican states of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Guerrero, with isolated amounts up to 20 inches possible.
These rainfall totals could lead to life-threatening flash floods and mudslides in some areas into midweek.
