Mexico is facing one of the sharpest economic, political and social crises of the last 10 years, José Humberto Montes de Oca, international secretary of the Mexican Electricians Union (SME), said today.
In conversation with Prensa Latina, he said that several factors were compounded; among the most serious were insecurity, lack of governance and the growth of homicides, even against communicators.
To this is added the lack in daily life given by inflation and the failure of the so-called reforms in relevant sectors such as education, health and energy that lead to privatize resources that were of Mexicans.
He analyzed that there is a decomposition of state institutions, a link between organized crime and the political class, while the oligarchy dominates the economic interests of large transnational corporations.
Another misconception, he warned, is the lack of transparency of the authorities to respond to the thousands of people killed or missing.
