What is Cuba Like? A Trip to Havana in 7 Minutes (Cal McKinley)

About 150,000 Mexicans will vacation in Cuban tourist destinations this year, says Xiomara Martinez, tourism counselor at the Cuban Embassy to Mexico.

She told Prensa Latina that about 136,000 Mexicans traveled in 2016, representing a 30 percent growth compared to the previous year.

There is a great attraction for the Cuban sun and beach destinations, heritage cities, as well as participation in cultural, educational, sports, medical, tourist event, among others, she said.

Air connectivity is guaranteed with 63 weekly flights from Cubana de Aviacion, Interjet and Aeromexico, from Mexico City, Monterrey, Yucatan and Cancun, while from Puebla by Copa Airlines, with more than 76 percent.

Martinez added that Mexico is the third international market in air connectivity with the island, after Canada and the United States.
