The mic drop of Mexican vacay moments (Grand Velas)
A resort in Mexico is now offering what it bills as the world’s most expensive taco — and at $25,000, it’s hard to imagine there’s much in the way of stiff competition for the title.
The taco has debuted at at the new Grand Velas Los Cabos, and is available at the resort’s Frida restaurant. Ingredients include langoustine, Kobe beef, Almas Beluga caviar, and black truffle brie cheese.
And you can bet the salsa aint Pace Picante sauce. (Get a rope.) No, this version is comprised of dried Morita chili peppers, Ley.925 ultra-premium añejo tequila, and civet coffee. It all tops the taco, which is served on a gold flake-infused corn tortilla.
If you have an additional $150,000 burning a hole through your swim trunks, go for the perfect pairing: Order your taco with hand-crafted white gold and pure platinum bottle of Ley.925 Pasión Azteca Ultra Premium Añejo. The over-the-top offering is for two people (it doesn't seem so pricey when you divide it in half, right?) and was created by the resort’s executive chef, Juan Licerio Alcala.
