Prosecutors say Sandra Jametski posted video to Facebook Live as she confronted a Latinx neighbor. Jametski has been charged with malicious harassment, a hate crime. This has been edited from a 10-minute video that included racial slurs. (Seattle Times)

While most people have experienced road rage at some time in their lives, they probably haven’t filmed themselves going on an unhinged, proudly racist rant at another driver.

That, however, is exactly what one Washington state motorist did. And now, the Seattle Times reports, she’s being charged with a hate crime.

Sandra Jametski, who also goes by the name Sandra Huddleson, was charged last month for malicious harassment, a hate crime in Washington State, after filming herself following, and cursing at, a Latinx woman driving her son to school in late November. According to SeattlePI.com, Jametski was incensed over an earlier traffic incident between herself and the woman’s then-16-year-old daughter, a student-driver.

In the video, which Jametski streamed live to Facebook, she can be heard shouting: “This is America. We don’t drive like that here! We don’t drive like you’re in Mexico, lady!” According to the Seattle Times, the woman - identified only as “Dolores” - is originally from Mexico.

Over the course of the 10-minute-long footage, Jametski engages in a series of racially-motivated diatribes, saying at one point “they have four new vehicles. They’re Spanish. They don’t even deserve to be in our fucking country.” Jametski eventually confronts the other driver in the parking lot of Dolores’ son’s high school, telling her “keep laughing spic.”

Raw Story notes that despite her shocking language, and seemingly racially fueled animus, Jametski is not a Donald Trump supporter, having posted on social media after the election that the didn’t want to “live in a country where this fucker is our president.”

Nevertheless, Jametski is now charged with malicious harassmen - a crime defined by Washington State as having been committed when a person causes or threatens harm or damage “because of his or her perception of the victim’s race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or mental, physical, or sensory handicap.” She is being held in jail under $500,000 bond.
