The leader of the Mexican Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) in Mexico, Alejandra Barrales, announced that a national mobilization will be held on January 15th against the increase in the price of gasoline currently causing dissatisfaction in the country.

Barrales called on citizens to attend this peaceful march in rejection of the so-called gasoline tax.

Meanwhile, the PRD's coordinator in the Senate, Miguel Barbosa, urged the president to present a reform initiative to the Revenue Law.

'This would prevent the Mexican economy from further deteriorating and its effects being felt in a generalized way,' he stressed.

In turn, Mexico's Workers' Party (PT) called for a peaceful demonstration against the increase in fuels decreed by the government.

The entity also appealed on the government of President Enrique Peña Nieto to reverse the Energy Reform and repeal the Special Products and Services Tax (IEPS) taxing gasoline at the 27.3 percent.

Oscar González, a member of the National Coordinating Commission of that political grouping, expressed this at a press conference.

The PT called on citizens to participate in the march convened for January 9 in this capital, against the so-called gasoline tax.

Furthermore, the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party in Mexico City also announced protests against this increase with peaceful demonstrations and without generating roadblocks or at gas stations.
