After more than 6 years Mazatlan’s locals and visitors can finally visit the biggest shark tank in Latin America.
The opening last week was a celebration that included dance performance by the Vilanova ballet and fireworks enjoyed by more than 500 onlookers.
The tank holds 2 million liters of ocean water and 18 sharks of different varieties along with 700 fish. The number of species will be increase in the future and additions will be governed by bio-ethic principles, said Jorge Gomez, Aquarium Director.
Jose Sevilla, State Infrastructure secretary said that the tank will be another significant attraction for tourists and locals.
