Scientists from 11 Countries to Attend EZLN Meeting Prensa Latina

The Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) reported that 11 countries have confirmed their presence at the meeting of the Zapatistas and ConCiencias por la Humanidad, to be held in the Mexican state of Chiapas.

The event, to be held from December 25 to January 4 in San Cristóbal de Las Casas will be attended by 82 scientists.

A statement, signed by Sub commander Moisés, indicates that scientists from Canada, Chile, Germany, the United States, Spain, Israel, Paraguay, the United Kingdom, Uruguay, Brazil and Mexico have registered.

The areas in which they perform, he explained, are quantum field theory, mathematics, volcanology, astrophysics, astronomy, cosmology, nuclear fusion, genetics, microbiology, statistical physics, optics and bioethics.

They are also specialists in biophysics, evolutionary and marine biology, among others, he added.

The meeting will have general sessions, talks and workshops.
