For anyone buying the gifts listed in the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas”, there is good and bad news, according to PNC Wealth Management.

Gold as a commodity may have increased in price, but according to PNC’s largely jocular calculations, the cost of five gold rings has remained stable for the last three years.

In 2013, the price of geese-a-laying climbed 29.6 percent, egged on by rising costs of corn and other bird feed. This year at least, no one will be crying foul over the price of fowl in the song, with six geese-a-laying still at last year’s price of $360 and seven swans-a-swimming treading steadily at $13,125.

The cost of four calling birds remains $600 and anyone hatching a plan to buy three French hens, will shell out the same amount as in 2015, $182.

Nine ladies dancing will cost you $7,553 per performance, the same as last year. Shoppers can also expect ten lords to leap at the same rate as last year, $5,509 per performance.

What has changed is the hourly rate charged by pipers and drummers.
