More than five tons of cocaine were seized from drug-trafficking groups near the coasts of the Mexican states of Chiapas and Guerrero, the national Navy has reported.
According to the source, the drug, with a value estimated at 750 million pesos ($42 million USD) belonged to the cartel of the Pacific.
In 11 operations, they seized 14 fishing, transportation and recreational boats and arrested 47 people, including national, Guatemalan and Ecuadorian citizens.
Drug dealers are now using, from South America to Mexico, smaller boats and the drug cargoes range between 200 and 800 kilograms.
