A scathing report has emerged accusing Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto of plagiarizing nearly one-third of his 1991 undergraduate law thesis.
Journalist Carmen Aristegui posted the alleged proof on her website.
Peña Nieto was said to have copied 197 of the 682 paragraphs that made up his 200-page thesis, “Mexican Presidentialism and Alvaro Obregon.”
The Mexican government tried its best to do damage control on Sunday, playing down the claims of plagiarism and saying that Peña Nieto had instead made mere “style errors.”
