A rising number of immigrants are dying out in the South Texas brush. So far this year, 100 immigrants have died, compared to 87 by this time last year.
Eddie Canales runs the South Texas Human Rights Center in Falfurrias, an organization that sets out water stations throughout South Texas. Inside the blue barrels are gallon jugs of water. There's also flag flying with a red cross on it above those barrels. It's designed so that immigrants will hopefully spot them when they're looking for water as they move through the thick Brooks County brush land.
Right now there are about 100 of the lifesaving stations placed around the county.
