Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA is inspired by the culture and beauty of Mexico. (Travelweek)

Cirque du Soleil is bringing its show LUZIA to Toronto to the delight of the Mexico Tourism Board. LUZIA will debut on July 26 and is inspired by the Mexico’s breathtaking sights and vibrant culture.

Travelweek sat down with Rodrigo Esponda, Regional Director for North America for the Mexico Tourism Board to talk about how the show was created. Esponda can’t wait for people in Toronto to see the show and be inspired to travel to the country and see it for themselves.

It’s no secret that Mexico has a ton of great beaches; we asked Esponda what he considers are the country’s top five sandy locales. But Mexico isn’t just about sand and surf, he also urges travellers to see the towns that are close by and sample the destination’s amazing cuisine and culture.
