The top official of Mexico's National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) on Thursday criticized the United States for not investigating its own human rights violations before criticizing those outside its borders.

"The United States needs to ask itself some questions. It is not worth criticizing other countries without asking itself how to fix the situation in its own country," Luis Raul Gonzalez told a press conference.

On Wednesday, the U.S. State Department released its 2015 Country Reports on Human Rights, which tracks human rights around the world without including its own country.

"The U.S. must include itself in this report. It would be worth doing a report to show how it violates human rights," Gonzalez noted.
