Jari-Matti Latvala and his co-driver Miikka Anttila dominated Rally Mexico this weekend to score their first win of the season in a VW Polo R WRC. The Finnish duo proved to be buoyant throughout the weekend denying their stable mates Sebastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia the overall victory.

Latvala entered the final day on Sunday with a comfortable lead over Ogier, the Guanajuato test was kicked off the eventful day where drivers covered a total of 80 km making it the longest WRC stage in nearly 30 years. Even so, Ogier managed to take both stage wins when the running order was reversed. The Frenchman also scooped the maximum Power Stage points but it was not enough to cover the gap created by Latvala.
