14 Months Later Ayotzinapa Case Far from Settled (teleSUR)

A caravan traveling around Mexico to advocate for the 43 forcibly disappeared Ayotzinapa students arrived in the southern city of Oaxaca in the latest action by the parents of the trainee teachers to demand their safe return.

Two caravans set off Jan. 18, one from the northern border and the other from the south, planning to converge in Mexico City Jan. 28, where they will deliver a complaint to President Enrique Peña Nieto denouncing his government’s inability to resolve the case.

Organizers have said the main goal of this demonstration is to let people know across the country what happened Sep. 26, 2014, when the 43 trainee teachers were disappeared in the city of Iguala in Guerrero state, following an attack by police forces suspected of having links to drug gangs.

Meanwhile, the parents’ lawyer, Vidulfo Rosales, said the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts has new findings that they will present to the government.
