Communications and Transportation Secretariat (SCT) started the bidding process for the first package of preliminary works for the construction of the new Mexico City International Airport, which was announced in 2014.

In a statement, the agency said that as part of this parcel bidding process, in accordance with the schedule, the preview of the bidding terms is available on the Compranet website for the revision of interested parties.

This first bidding package relates to processes such as the cleaning of material, removal of demolition waste, as well as the removal of waste and raw sewage accumulated at the new terminal’s construction site.

The construction of temporary access roads to the airport, road works, drainage structures, paving and leveling the terrain to prepare it for the foundation construction are also part of the bidding package.

The bidding is meant to encourage the participation of Mexican business in the process and establish clear regulations for all participants from the beginning, said the agency.
