McCann Mexico has created an eye-opening ad for Chevrolet. The lesson? If you knowingly send a text message to someone who is currently driving, you immediately pose a risk possibly leading to distracted driving. (McCann Worldgroup Latam)
Everybody knows that texting and driving is dangerous and in most places illegal. Or maybe not. The many new ads from around the world, and the alarming number of casualties despite more severe laws being put in place, suggest that some people still fail to remember the deadly consequences this form of distracted driving can have.
Actually, car drivers are not the only ones to blame: people who send text messages to someone they know is currently driving are just as guilty. Even pedestrians shouldn't be texting while walking down or crossing the street.
And if you think young drivers are mostly at fault, you'd be surprised to see how many older folks happily text their friends and family members when behind the wheel, putting themselves and other road users in danger.
