Wifimapper App Preview for Android (OpenSignal)

'WifiMapper - Free Wifi Map' is one useful app that will help you find free WiFi hotspots all over the world. It's a database of open WiFi zones so you can be connected to the Internet all the time at no cost.

According to developer Open Signal, WifiMapper has more than 650 million hotspots in the database. It's the largest free WiFi database in the world today and I doubt if anyone can beat this app as it's even getting bigger each day. It's a community of geeks and Internet-hungry people who work together to help improve the database.

WifiMapper is simply a map of free WiFi hotspots wherever you are. So you're in a new place you've never been to? Just open the app and see if there are open WiFi areas you can access. App is integrated with Foursquare so you can easily have access to places other people have already "checked in" as this helps in getting more information about a particular venue.

You can also check the history of the previous WiFi hotspots you've already joined. You can see the performance of each network so you'll know which one is the most reliable or fastest connection. Using this WiFiMapper can help you save on roaming or data charges especially when you are traveling because you don't have to connect to your 3G or 4G/LTE if you see there's a free hotspot to join.
