SCOTUS Legalizes Same Sex Marriage as Roof Completely Falls in on Conservatives

In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court has ruled that state laws banning same-sex marriage are unconstitutional.

The Court found that the Fourteen Amendment requires a state to license a marriage between two people, and it also requires a marriage between two people of the same sex to be recognized when it is lawfully licensed and performed out of state. In other words, state laws that ban same-sex marriage are unconstitutional. Same-sex marriage is now legal nationwide.

Justice Kennedy joined the liberal justices, and Chief Justice Roberts voted with the conservatives.

In the last two days, Republicans have lost major ruling on the ACA, and same-sex marriage. On top of the two court rulings, they have seen the rise of racist Donald Trump in the party’s presidential polling and been forced to retreat on their support of the Confederate flag.
