Mexican authorities recover hazardous radioactive material stolen from the gulf coast state of Tabasco last week.
The interior ministry says the iridium 192 used for industrial radiography was found sealed in its container on a pedestrian walkway in the same town where it was stolen. The container was not opened and posed no threat.
Thieves stole a truck last week containing the material, which authorities said could seriously harm anyone handling it even for a short time.
It was the fifth theft of radioactive material in Mexico in little over a year. The hazardous material has been recovered in all cases.
