Again, Mexican Navy Rescues 14 Cuban Immigrants Off the Yucatan Coast

A group of 14 Cuban citizens traveling in a homemade boat, near the coast of Yucatan were rescued by staff of the Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico (SEMAR).

The agency reported that the rescue began Monday afternoon, when an aircraft of the Navy conducted a surveillance flight, in which the boat was sighted 7.4 kilometers (4.5 miles) north of El Cuyo, Yucatan.

A Search and Rescue boat from the Naval Station was ordered to go to the coordinates indicated by the aircraft personnel to conduct the rescue operation.
