In Nuevo León this week, President Enrique Peña Nieto said the new technological tools will provide the means, “For every Mexican to design a road map for his life, a dignified map that will enable him to achieve another great objective we have as a country: that of a prosperous Mexico.” (Presidency of the Republic)
Mexico will have a total of 100,000 sites nationwide providing free broadband access by the end of 2015, according to the country's President Enrique Pena Nieto. These sites will benefit a total of 28 million users across Mexico. The country currently has over 65,000 public sites.
The national connectivity program Mexico Conectado (Connected Mexico) stipulates a total of 250,000 sites nationwide providing free broadband access by 2018. The project stipulates the deployment of free connectivity in public areas including schools, parks, libraries government buildings and hospitals.
