The Citizen Front for the Rights of Animals (Frecda) demanded to the governments of the State of Mexico and Mexico City the application of laws against the sacrifice and torture of animals in Satanic rituals, Santeria or just for fun.

According to Frecda's national coordinator, José Luis Carranza, during the last few months there has been an increase in the sacrifice of dogs, cats, goats, and chickens that are often disposed of in the streets, a situation that complicates public hygiene.

Also, Carranza added that those who perform sacrifices and rituals avoid or even destroy the security cameras in Mexico City when they dispose of their victims.

Finally, he reiterated the demand to approve a law against the use of animals in public or private performances, with religious purposes or just for fun.
