Three people remain missing after this week's deadly fire on an Mexican oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico, a blaze that left at least four workers dead (see video below).

The search continues in the Campeche Sound for the workers - a contractor for Mexican oil-services company Cotemar and an employee of state-owned oil giant Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex - who went missing when the fire erupted Wednesday on the Abkatun Permanente platform, Pemex said in a statement Friday.

Personnel from the Attorney General's Office; the Security, Energy and Environment Agency; and the Labor and Social Welfare Secretariat have been carrying out an investigation at the rig since Thursday, Pemex added.

Six workers also remain hospitalized, two of whom are in serious condition at a burn center in Mexico City.
