The Attorney General of the State of Chihuahua says 90 percent of the cases of women murdered because of their "gender" are solved.
The announcement comes three years after the state created a Special Prosecutor for Crimes Against women in response to a complaint with the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
"The majority of the cases are resolved with the detention of those responsible," said Attorney Jorge Enrique Gonzalez Nicholas during a visit to Ciudad Juarez.
"It's all lies. That's false," said Gaspar Rocha Mendoza, father of a missing teenager. His daughter Bertha Alicia Vidal Varela disappeared downtown on May 19, 2011.
"They (authorities) think we are sheep," Mendoza said. Other parents of missing girls echo his disbelief.
"That's not true," said Perla Reyes, mother of a missing teenager. "It's a number they give but they need to really show proof."
