Vicente Fox blasts drug war in 2013 interview with High Times Magazine (High Times)
Former Mexican President Vicente Fox Quesada expressed that federal authorities must talk with organized crime in order to end the ever-increasing violence in the country, and added that the arrest of Servando Gómez "La Tuta" and Omar Treviño, "El Z-42", do not guarantee the end of insecurity in Mexico.
The former head of state said that crime should not be fought only with bullets, but that "the strategy must be improved. The strategy has to be of great intelligence, it has to be a search to end the violence without causing more violence. I truly believe that you can talk even to criminals and every human being is worth being rescued, every human being deserves a second chance. I believe there has to be a strategy to that aim."
