Since the passage last November 28, 2014 of the Real Estate Law of the State of Baja California, "charlatan" real estate agents will be impeded from operating and continuing to extort people, said the state president of the Real Estate Professionals Council, Mario Olguín González.

He said that the law requires agents to maintain accreditation and have their documentation in order to work as a real estate agent.

He pointed out that at first several doubts were heard about the functioning of this law, as some were sure it would limit their work, however he says on the contrary, it facilitates their work as it generates a higher confidence level in clients.

He stressed that the Council has more than 400 real estate agents ready to serve the public, and he invited the rest to not hesitate to get certified so as to not have problems later.

He mentioned that one of the motives for which they asked for the creation of the Real Estate Law was because of "charlatan" real estate agents, which come from other states, sell, collect the money and leave without their clients knowing anything more about them.

"It is very difficult to identify fraud, but with this license one can show that we are certified, the public can review the list on the web portal of the Ministry of Economic Development and contract with an agent he chooses, ," added Olguín González.

This morning 60 certificates were presented to real estate agents who finished the basic course on regulations since last November 29, the after the Real Estate Law of Baja California was approved.
