Launching its e-commerce platform and point-of-sale (POS) system, Bitso is reaching to the customers in Mexico. With the latest decision the company is aiming to cash in the huge potential available in the local market. The merchant solution includes an API for e-commerce companies that want to integrate a shopping cart interface.

The shopping card interface according to the company enables customers to pay with Bitcoin at checkout as quickly and easily as they could with traditional payments options like MasterCard, PayPal and Visa. Thus, it is not just going to be easy but fast as well for the customers who are using Bitcoin as a mode for payment.

The chief executive of Bitso, Pablo Gonzalez, said that while his company still caters to traders, it just makes sense to plug BitsoPagos into the same market and attract Mexican merchants. He also added that a number of merchants interested in accepting Bitcoin have approached Bitso in the last year.

He further added that there has not been a service that allows them to accept Bitcoin and quickly convert them to Mexican Pesos. Elaborating the plan exhaustively, he said that to him his company settles fiat with Mexican traders in minutes using the SPEI system and it can do it with merchants as well.
