Parent's Storm a Military Base: Mexico's Missing Students - Dispatch 2 (VICE News)
MEXICO CITY - Given the involvement of serious human rights violations, the Institute for Access to Information and Data Protection (IFAI) ordered the Attorney General's Office (PGR) to deliver a public version of the investigation into the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa school students and the murder of three other people last September 26.
The full IFAI unanimously decided to revoke the PGR's response to an individual who was told that the information is confidential, since it is about an ongoing preliminary investigation in which various individuals and public officials have been indicted and are subject to criminal prosecution.
The PGR, presided over by Jesús Murillo Karam, told the applicant that there are two investigations for charges of kidnapping, organized crime, and various other crimes that could be verified ... .
However, Commissioner Areli Cano recalled that the PGR cannot invoke confidentiality when serious violations of fundamental rights or crimes against humanity are concerned.
