From 2006 to date 74 Mexicans have died in the United States due to police abuse or disproportionate use of force, according to data from Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE).

Of this total, that includes the recent case of Antonio Zambrano Montes, 56 cases have been resolved. Damages were paid to the families of the victims in nine cases only, while 47 had no consequences. Eighteen cases more are pending, one of them since 2006.

The Border Patrol killed 26 of these Mexicans and local authorities the other 48.
