The Ministry of Tourism Development announced that Merida will be the first city in the tour of Canadian based Cirque du Soleil this summer. This will be the first time Cirque du Soleil sets foot on Yucatecan soil. Be ready to be dazzled by the performance.

According to Cirque’s website, Corteo is a joyous funeral procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown as he witnesses his own funeral. The show brings together the passion of the actor with the grace and power of the acrobat to plunge the audience into a theatrical world of fun, comedy and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth.

According to Cirque’s Mexico Facebook page Cirque du Soleil Corteo will be tour in June and July. Merida’s performance will take place along the Merida-Progreso highway near the Maseca plant.
