The violence in Mexico has more people on alert. Some people living and visiting across the border said they do not leave their homes without checking violence reports on social media.

Most Americans do not think twice of driving to the store or running errands. Violence is the last thought on their mind.

Imagine if a simple trip to the store required checking Facebook or Twitter to see if there were dangers present, such as blockades or gunfire.

Neighbors and strangers warn what streets have gunfire and which ones are safe.

That is the scenario happening every day just across the US Mexico border.
