The violence in Mexico is severely impacting taxicab companies in Hidalgo County. (KRGV)

Taxicab owners and drivers said the violence in Mexico is crippling their business. Those drivers say they are seeing anywhere from a 50 percent to an 80 percent drop in business.

He said many times he comes to the bridge bright and early to get the best spot. There is no guarantee he will get clients. He said business dropped dramatically because people are afraid to travel to Mexico.
