The government’s five key objectives for 2015 are as follows:
ONE. Strengthen respect for the law and human rights, on the basis of the measures announced by Enrique Peña Nieto on November 27, which include reform initiatives to establish State-level Police Units and prevent the infiltration of organized crime in municipal authorities.
TWO. Continue implementing reforms, so that their benefits can be felt in Mexicans’ everyday lives, especially in their household economies. This is already happening, with the elimination of long-distance phone call charges, the reduction of electricity rates and the decision that there will be NO MORE gas price increases in 2015.
THREE. Enhance transparency and improve tools for fighting corruption.
FOUR. Speed up the construction of infrastructure and housing.
FIVE. Reinforce actions to alleviate poverty and offset the regional imbalance. As part of this objective, the government will establish three Special Economic Zones so that Chiapas, Guerrero and Oaxaca will have the same development opportunities as the rest of the country.
All these actions will be carried out by being in close contact with society, listening to their concerns and proposals. The government will protect macroeconomic stability and discipline in public finances at all times.
