Will Mexico's Government Be Overthrown? (TestTube)
The independent pollster GEA Group released a survey showing Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto's legitimacy rate has dropped dramatically over the past months.
The survey shows that 85 percent of Mexicans do not trust in Peña Nieto, with 47 percent of respondents saying they trust him a little while 38 percent responding that they do not trust him at all.
The Mexican leaders popularity has dropped due to a number of serious scandals which have occurred since his six-year term began in 2012, including massacres in Tlatlaya and Ayotzinapa as well as questions over how he secured his luxury house.
When he began his administration, Peña Nieto tried to avoid the focus on drug and gang violence that dominated the presidency of his predecessor, Felipe Calderon.
However violence under his rule has increased significantly, with the drug-related death toll reached some 100,000 according to some estimates.
