Mexico's consumer confidence rose for a second straight month in December, marking its highest level in more than a year, survey figures from the statistical office INEGI showed Friday.
The consumer confidence index rose to 93.6 from 92.9 in November. Economists had forecast a reading of 94. The latest score was the highest since September 2013, when the reading was 94.1.
Consumers' remained positive regarding the outlook for the personal economic situation in the next 12 months. The reading held steady at 101.3.
Meanwhile, households' were less upbeat regarding the economic situation for the country in the next 12 months. The relevant index eased to 89.5 from 90.
