FRANCE24 investigates new Mexico kidnapping case (FRANCE 24 English)
MEXICO CITY - French television reported that two months before the case of the 43 normal school students in Iguala, 31 other young people from the neighboring municipality of Cocula were disappeared by criminals.
On Wednesday night, the television network France24 broadcast that the young people, junior high school students, have been missing since July 17, but the case remained in silence due to the people's fear of threats by the perpetrators.
Testimonies collected by the network state that the last day of classes before summer vacation, hooded men dressed in dark blue and apparently traveling in police vehicles, abducted the young people when they left the Justo Sierra junior high school. The school is located at one side of the Cocula Municipal Building. Cocula police are involved in the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa normal school students.
Although there were witnesses to the abduction, committed in broad daylight in the town's main square, neither the witnesses and nor the victims' relatives had wanted to announce the case.
